PROGRAM INFORMATION

Moss Rock Preschool is an outdoor focused program that spends its days on the vast grounds of Porter Park and surrounding sites (beaches, parks, etc.). It is part of the $10ADay program.

Ages: 2.5 (30 months) – 5 (Must be 36 months by December 31st of their registering year)

Hours: 9:00 AM -1:00 PM (Monday- Friday)

September – June
Closed on Sir James Douglas closure days

Ratio: Up to 18 children, 1 Early Childhood Educator & 1 Early Childhood Education Assistant

Fees:

3 days/week: Monday, Wednesday & Friday~$120/month

5 days/week: Monday-Friday ~ $200/month

Philosophy & staff

Moss Rock Preschool is primarily an outdoor-focused emergent curriculum. The goals of the program are to foster a connection to the natural world, build confidence in the student’s own abilities, and allow children’s inherent inquisitive nature to develop and grow. In the natural space there are almost infinite ways for children to interact with their environment, this unstructured style of play also allows children to interact more meaningfully with their surroundings, think more creatively, play more cooperatively with each other, and approach the world in more imaginative ways.
